  1. if you seperate them when you breed them and have them filled up like pet stores do you can fit alot of fish in there.

  2. Don't get any fish small enough to fit in the mouths of others. Different fish have different needs. Some may need more room than others. However, if you're looking for "cute" fish, consider going Marine.

Be careful of overstocking the aquarium, as that can provide an overly stressful environment for the fish, both physically and mentally, leading to short life and sickness.

Also, keep in mind that some fish may eat their fry.

  3. in that size tank if you have it well planted you can easily house 3 male goursmis. Just to clear things up, any fish you put in will eat the baby mollies. Ok, back to gouramis, you can go for dwarf or pearl or many of the other types here are pix of dwarf gouamis, this is the main type you will find in pet store, there are other colors like flame, and powder blue, here are pix of those-http://www.funfishtank.com/wp-content/up...

    and http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/an...

Pearl gouramis get quite a bit larger because they are not a dwarf species, about 5 inches. Here is a pic of them-http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/an...

You can also add....5 female bettas. As long as they have enough room (And in a 100 gallon tank, there is plenty of room!) They will not fight. They also come in many colors! Often overshadowed by the more popular male bettas, nobody seems to see the simple beauty these creatures posses! I personally am captivated by it! Here is a blue one and a white one!

    Blue http://watershed3.tripod.com/betta_fem.J...

    White http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1105/7896...

There are many other colors like pale pink(One of my favorites) Or like I already showed you, white and in the pic there is also a white one with red fins, splendid!

If you want something that breeds then 2 pairs of kribensis would suit you! If given a cave to lay in, they will lay there eggs, and protect the fry into adulthood, then the babies can be sold to local fish stores. They only breed once every few weeks. Here is what they look like- http://www.thekrib.com/Apisto/P-pulcher-...

Some other fish that would do well are coryadoras catfish! They get about 3 inches and are just so darn cute! There are to many variety's to put here, but I will post a pic of my personally favorite, panda corys. Corys are schooling fish and do best in groups of 6 or more.

    Panda cory- http://badmanstropicalfish.com/catfish-p...

Also, many of the loaches will do welling your tank, like a school of kuhli or dojo loaches. With your size tank you can even keep a decent sized school of adult clown loaches!

Kuhli, get about 4 inches and is best kept in schools they come in black and striped colors, here is striped- http://www.aqua-fish.net/imgs/fish/kuhli...

Dojo is best kept in schools and gets slightly larger, also comes in a gold coloring, very attractive!-  http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/lo...

And last of the loaches I recommend, clown loaches. They get about 6 inches and are best kept in schools also! They all look the same! I have a school of 4 with my African cichlids! - http://tropicalfishkeeping.co.uk/picts/c...

If you want to know any other species e-mail me and I'm sure I can think of some more for you! Good luck with your tank!=)

  4. Honestly my concern is with the plecos because for the time being they may be good but as the get bigger they will definately be able to eat your other fish and they will. At the same time I understand that 100 gallons is a lot to clean so maybe the plecos are needed but just keep a close eye on them for any aggressive behavior.

I know you already have mollies but balloon mollies are cute additions to your tank. They have the big bellys and tend to stay towards the top of your tank. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_... --> Comes in more colors

Also, platys are always another good choice. Closely related to the mollies. However, they have huge personalities and will begin to recognize you as their owner and swim right up to the front of the tank to greet you at feeding times. Very nice fish to have. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_... ---> Comes in more colors

Also, swordtails that may crossbreed with your platys. These are neat fish because of their long sword tail they have. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_... --> Comes in more colors

You could add some female bettas for a colorful addition in a tank that size you would easily be able to house between 7 to 9 with no problems. Each betta is different colors and have their own personality which would give you a lot of diversity to your tank. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_...

Another colorful and fun additions would be any of the three Rams...and with your size aquarium you could have all three. There is the German Blue Ram http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_... German Gold Ram http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_... and Bolivian Ram http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_...

A very neat addition to your fish would be a rope fish http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_...

A more expensive choice would be any number of killifish http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquar...

With a tank this size you have a unending amount of options but I hope i gave you some good ideas to start with!

In a tank this size you can easily get about 30 fish and if you go with the smaller species of fish probably close to 40 or 50. But this is not a set amount add your fish slowly and don't forget to take account for each fish's need for territory and space!

Edit: Yes, like the person below me Corys are always a good addition to any tank.

  5. You can fit maybe 1000 fish in 100 gallons, if they're really tight. But poor fishes.
