Question:

How many more teams will Paul Kariya play for?

I hope not many. His story is already too much like like Eric Lindros for my tastes, running away from teams that that do better and better without him on board. But PK is such a team first guy and really doesn't deserve the hard times. I'd like to see him go back to the Predators and say to himself and the world that he just doesn't want to play for any more new teams. The Cup doesn't necessarily find those guys who run all over the league chasing it around. Meanwhile if he helps Nashville either get stronger where they are (following yet another better than expected playoffs in 2008) or even if he just sticks with them through relocation he can sit back one day and say he helped another franchise get over the hump, just like he did in Anaheim. I want Paul Kariya to be seen as having given more to hockey than he took away, especially if (heaven forbid) there is no Stanley Cup for him in the end.

  1. Paul Kariya, a cup chaser? Is that why he signed with the Blues last year? And the Predators before that?  This guy see's green and goes.  My guess is he's got 3-4 decent years left.  And he'll play for 4-5 more teams...get traded a couple times.

  2. I would love to see him back, However I don't think it'll happen. I talked with his wife one night, and all she really talked about was how great California is, and how every where else sucks.

  3. wouldnt mind him comming to Detroit. could be a nice set up fan for Filppula and Franzen.

  4. Good points-But you can't fault the players for going to Cup contenders year after year.If its in Nashville your absolutely right that would be an amazing accomplishment as was the rise of the Ducks from joke of the League to Cup winners.I think a players legacy would be based on what he did for an organization even if he didn't win the big one.

  5. Not sure, but like you said it would be sweet if he came back to the Preds

  6. I think he'll go to wherever he thinks the Cup will be.  He said he went to St. Louis because he liked there team and thought they were on the uprise and lo and behold they did good this year.  So I think he might stay in St. Louis
