Question:

How many more times will the Rays get screwed by umpires?

That's one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Aybar didn't touch Pierzynski. If anyone should've been called for interference, it should've been AJ. What do you think? The Rays lost the series because of this call !!!!

  1. Well, I saw contact and that all it takes for an interference call. Secondly, the idea that the umpires are conspiring against the Rays is comparable to the 9/11 conspiracy theory. And the Rays won the series outright. They didn't sweep, but they won the series. Watch the tape again. See if you don't see contact. Even incidental contact constitutes interference.

  2. GET OVER THE CALL.

the umpire called it its over white sox won

  3. Well first of all the call is obstruction not interference.  Secondly, there was contact made, and in that case it is the fielder's obligation to vacate the baseline of the runner if he is not in the act of fielding a ball.  It doesn't matter who touched who, if there was contact made while he was not fielding the ball, then it IS OBSTRUCTION.  One call does not a game win or lose.  The Rays gave up 13 hits, had 1 error and gave up 6 runs and you think that one call had an impact on the game??? Come on!

Edit: For deck dog, they teach infielders how to handle run downs in Little League.  He should not even been in the position where he could be touched and called for obstruction.  In 2005, AJ reached first because the catcher did not tag him and did not throw it to first.  Again they teach catchers in Pony League that ANY marginal third strike you tag the runner just in case.  Place the blame where the blame should be placed!

  4. they should get screwed daily so the yankees get into the playoffs

  5. I think you're a moron.

The Rays won the series 2-1.

If A.J. was called out, it's still a tie game in extra innings, so it's not like the Rays were automatically awarded a win with that play

If the Rays catcher can catch a routine throw from the outfield, the game ends in the 9th.

Stop with the crackpot theories.  It was a judgment call that went one team's way.  It's baseball.  Any White Sox fan can tell you a million times that our team has been screwed out of calls.

  6. When any of us focus on one team it seems all the bad calls go against our team and never anyone else.  In fact, every team gets their share of bad calls and it usually evens out over a long season.

  7. AJ is such a b*****d. he clearly stuck his arm out so the defender would have to run into it. Doug Eddings and AJ have to be g*y lovers because Eddings because during the 2005 ALCS pierzynski swung at stike 3 but eddings said the ball hit the ground and aj made ti to first.

  8. Who cares about one game?  All that matters is that they WILL win the pennant, they'll keep either the Yankees or the Red Sox out of the playoffs (preferably both), and David Price will win a World Series ring in his first full season!

    Go Rays!

  9. I'm a Rays fan and the way it was explained it was the right call. The ump did however think the contact was initiated by Aybar which prompted his call, nonetheless the right call was made. The blame should be on BJ Upton, ALL of the blame. I am so sick of him out there dogging it. I hope he gets dealt in the offseason and get a player who will hustle. BJ has a lot of talent but you would think he would appreciate being in a pennant race. It's not like the Rays have a great history. This is truly the first year to be proud of and he's out there so smug and casual. It makes me sick.

Plus you have guys out there who are just thankful to be able to play like Roc and then I look at Upton and it makes me want to vomit.

  10. I saw contact too but its not enough to say it interfered with his running . I could see if he shoved him or pushed him ,but just  barely touch him ,I think its stupid. And they should of called him out.The Rays should of won the game if wasn't for that.I think  most of the umpires don't like the Rays because they a young team.

  11. It may have been a bad called but someone stated that the Rays have had some bad calls on them by the umpires & so I took as they were saying that the Rays were the only team to have a bad call go against them & that person is so wrong. Bad calls happen all the time & whether we like it or not, it's human error.

  12. I hope all of them!

  13. This Is just one game, and It shouldn't hurt the Rays at all.

They took 2 out of 3 from a hot Sox team. As for the

Interference call, It shouldn't have been called. A.J. Pierzynski

Intentionally stuck out his elbow to make contact with Aybar.

Slow motion replay shows this very clearly. Pierzynski In

    reality Interfered with Aybar.

  14. "How many more times will the Rays get screwed by umpires?"

Probably the same number of times that they benefit from an umpires call.  If you analyze every close call made by an umpire during a season I'll be willing to bet that the number of calls that go against a team will be very close to the number of calls that go for that team.  It all evens out in the end.

  15. Every team gets screwed. It obviously hasn't affected their record since they have one of the three best in baseball.
