How many movies can a dvdr hold?

  1. It depends on the resolution of the movie.  I have a Tivo DVR and I record Bob the Builder and SpongeBob for my son at lower resolutions and can get up to 6 hours on them however if I record in the "Best picture" setting I can usually only get 1-2 hours.


  2. It depends what kind of movies you mean. If you're talking about home camcorder type videos, then it would be a lot. If you're talking about Hollywood movies, then only one per disc.

    A DVD holds about 4.7 gigabytes (4.7 x 10^9 bytes). So knowing the bit rate and duration of the movies would let you figure out how many would fit on the DVD.
