How many mpg do normal golf carts get?

I was considering getting a golf cart to get around on campus for my college because I'm in a wheelchair and if it rained or snowed it would help out alot plus the campus of OSU is huge and I know I could park in motorcycle parking as long as I have it registered. I was just wondering what kind of gas mileage a regular golf cart would get, like a 2000 model, and if I got a electric one how far would it go until I have to recharge it?

I like the aforementioned users comments about considering an electric cart, but I figure I'd humor you with a story about my father's old golf cart.   He had a three wheeled golf cart made by Harley Davidson (yes, Harley did make golf carts at one point in time).  That thing roared like a lion and got the worst gas mileage ever.  I'd say it was lucky to get a few miles per gallon.  You talk about a gas guzzling piece of machinery.  Anyhow, choose a cart which is the exact opposite.  An electric cart will surely get you around campus for a few days straight.  It's easy to charge the battery each night, doesn't make as much noise as a gas cart, and is much more environment friendly.  I hope this is helpful.

Go green and get an electric one.  Pulling two golfers and two golf bags they can usually go 36 holes or more before needing to be recharged.  That's roughly 10 miles.  Just pulling you and your books it could go farther - so I would guess if you just plugged it in every night when you got back to the dorm - you would be all set for the next day.

Golf carts generally get very good gas mileage.  I work at a golf course and we only have to refuel the carts around twice a month.  So I'd say they get around 20 or 30 miles per gallon.
