  1. neurons and heart muscles do not divide because they are in G0 pHASe of cell division means they can not divide once they are formed during our development .

so number of neurons are constant in every normal human and can not increase but damaged fibers of neurons can regenerate.

  2. none

  3. human adults don't produce new neurons each day, basically all we have is what we were born with, what we form is new synapses, or connections, but not new neurons. neurons in the brain and spinal cord are unable to even regenerate following damage, although peripheral neurons if damaged can regenerate to a great extent.

this is why its so worrying to lose neurons cos u can never get them back!

  4. Hi  =]

A neuron is a nerve cell. The brain is made up of approximately 100 billion neurons.

So an adult doesn't actually 'produce' them everyday but adults tend to loose them. You also damage or loose neurons through diseases, alcohol, drugs etc..

For example AIDS patients loose 6 billion neurons!! =(

But for children they might produce some new neurons to help build the pathways.

    Hope this helps =]
