  1. Week = about 0.25

    Month = about 1.09

    The new moon is the name of the "phase" of the moon when the entire side that faces us is in "darkness" or, facing away from the sun.  The only way this an happen, is if it is between earth and sun, which happens approximately every 29.5 days.  The new moon will always come halfway between full moons, approximately 14-15 days before and after each full moon.

  2. The moon takes 29.5 days to orbit the Earth once and reappear in the same position in the sky relative to an observer on Earth.

    Since new moon is when the moon is directly between the Earth and the sun, that occurs once every 29.5 days.

    So there is a new moon approximately once a month (the word "month" comes from the word "moon", our month is loosely based on the phases of the moon).

  3. 1 or 2. Moon cycles are about 28 days.//////////
