    D3-D4, D4-D5, D5-D6, D6-D7 = these are four octaves(also called octets)...

    But if you have asked, what are the octal notes within the D3-D7 interval, it would be five: D3, D4, D5, D6 & D7.....

  2. No, it's five.  D3, D4, D5, D6, and D7.

    I don't know much about music, and there may be minor scales mixed in there somewhere.  But from a purely counting standpoint, a range of 3 to 7 is not 4 numbers, it's 5.

  3. It is four.  d3 to d4 is one, d4 to d5 is two, d5 to d6 is three and d6 to d7 if four.

    In regards to the response above me: I'm reading how you wrote it as d7 being the very top note.  If it were five octaves then d7 would have to be the first note of the fifth octave, with d8 being the top note of that fifth octave.
