How many of U have been victims of Catalyic Converter theft?

This is a fairly new type of crime, that is costing us $400 a pop to replace them. Here in calif it is out of hand. Is your police dept doing a good job of stopping this?. Mainly asian gangs are into this, so I refuse to take my truck to an asain owned shop for repair. Racist? well police your own as we do.

I have heard that this could happen. but I do not know of anyone who has become a victim.  Maybe, we just need to get rid of catalitic converters.  They claim to reduce pollution, but they hurt your cars fuel mileage.  Doesn't sound lvery green to me.

Over the past three years I would say that about 150 of my customers have had their converter stolen..........

I also live in LA and heard about it also, but don't know anybody it happened to.

It is not a reason to not take your vehicle to an Asian shop for repairs -- he is not going to be the one to do this. Find a mechanic you're comfortable with and use him, Anglo, Caucasian, Asian, black or red. It should make no difference.
