Question:

How many of his predictions did Muhammad Ali get right? By this, I mean the rounds he'd knock someone out in?

He'd always give a pithy rhyme as to when he'd knock someone out - I'm wondering how many did he get right as I can only find the Henry Cooper fight that he correctly predicted (although that was a stoppage due to cut as opposed to k.o).

My point being: I have a theory that Muhammad Ali could well be the world's worst clairvoyant.

  1. Archie Moore - When you come to the fight, don't block the aisle or the door ..you will all go home after round four - He did it.

Sonny Liston - Round 8 Ill prove im great - he would have made that true as well but Sonny quit on his stool in 7th and robbed Ali of his prediction.

Henry Cooper - Henry Cooper is nothing to me! If this bum goes over five rounds, I won’t return to the United States for 30 days, and that’s final!

(Ali could have ended Coopers night before 5, but clowned around and got knocked down, then went out the next round and opened Coopers face forcing the ref to stop it in 5)

Richard Dunn - If he keeps talking Jive im putting him to sleep in 5 - he knocked Dunn down 5 times, earning  a tko in 5 rounds.

Thats a few of the ones he got right, there were some he got wrong. Most of his predictions he did get right you could tell he was carrying the guy and could have knocked him out at anytime. But the showman that he was he would risk it to carry them. It pissed Dundee off something terrible.

I cant guarantee this is all of them but these are the ones I know of and Ive seen all his televised fights.

Hist first prediction was against Alex Mitff he said "Witiff will get his licks in six. He got that right.

    Correct predictions: Miteff, Dunn,Moore,Cooper,Williams

    Wrong - Patterson,Chuvalo,

    5 - 2

Thats all the ones I know of that he made predictions. He did not make allot of predictions usually only over guys he knew he could man handle.

I dont know how you would get an exact number.

  2. most of the fights he predicted in the '60s came true, but when it came to doug jones, he kept changing it when it became apparent that doug would be no pushover.

he first said 5 rounds, then 7 rounds, and finally his team came up with a novel idea of having ali appear at the weigh in with a gag over his mouth!

thumbs up to ruddiger....that about sums it up.

  3. Archie Moore he got right Moore in four

  4. Trusting Muhammad Ali's prediction is like putting yourself in the war without anything to carry.
