  1. Pacman- no.  Too small.  Nothing can compensate for the size disadvantage.

Cintron- Has been KO'd twice by Margarito.  Will get KO'd by PBF.  Other than Margo, opposition has been relatively weak compared to PBF's opposition.

Margarito - started 9 -3, 27 - 2 since.  Has five losses and hasn't been KO'd.  Not a weak chin, his only loss to a fighter of note was to Williams.  I have to question his heart. He has lost 2 of his past 8 fights, as well.  I have to think Margarito would take PBF the distance but lose on points.

Paul Williams - His record bears an eerie resemblance to Cintron's.  Both of them built up impressive records with 1st round knockouts of bums.  Not much talent on his resume.  Would like to see the winner of of his rematch with Quintana get a shot at PBF.  I think both have the tools to fight well against May, but I don't think either bring enough to the table to have much of a chance.

Carlos Quintana - Has looked good against everyone except Cotto.  If he gets by Paul Williams in the rematch, I would like to see him get in the ring with May.  I think May wins, but this is a fight worth watching.

Miguel Cotto- Undoubtedly the fight that needs to be made.  Mayweather might be a touch too slick for Cotto, but I do expect May to have a few rounds where he goes toe to toe and bangs with Cotto.  Cotto has the best chance of any fighter here to beat May.

Also:  Clottey's name comes up quite often.  This I think would be a bit of a mismatch.  May would have his way with Clottey.

There are a couple of prospects that after another 4 or 5 fights might do well against PBF (i.e. Berto - his style would give PBF fits, but he remains untested against top-level competition)

I am not a Mayweather fan, but I don't see anyone here outside of Quintana and Cotto with any real shot at winning.

  2. pacman is not strong enough to compete at welterweight, not even 140.

cotto has the best chance here, especially in a year or so when pbf finally gets around to him.

  3. no one

but pacman and cotto got some skills

  4. Only Margarito and Cotto.  Pacquiao is a great fighter but he's too small and Mayweather has too many physical advantages.

Margarito is tall and lanky and throws an incredible amount of punches and he seems to be made of some sort of metel.  Mayweather would have a hard time hurting him.  He ran through Cintron like a knife through butter.  Mayweather is a better fighter.  It doesn't mean he will beat Margarito.  I don't think he will fight him.

There is no reason Mayweather should not fight Cotto.  Forget De La Hoya 2.  Cotto is the fight fans want to and should see.  Now Oscar says he wants to fight both.  So what will he do, prevent them from fighting each other first?  It's a shame.  Though I still think Oscar can do a lot for boxing in the future, I also think he's a bit self-serving and it's not good for fans.

Cotto is not a talented as Mayweather.  Floyd could take a decision.  Cotto, however, is as strong as a middleweight.  He also adjusts well to changes in a fight.  He can be hit but I don't think Mayweather can seriously hurt him.  The fight would likely go the distance.  If Cotto can hurt Mayweather during the course, he will score enough points to win.  Otherwise, Floyd takes a decision.

  5. People just dont get it. If you want to beat PBF, you have to have smarts. Lets look some key guy's on the list.

Quintana was undefeated for fighting nobody guy's. He met Cotto and got beat. If Quintana would have fought some top guy's, he would have more than one lost.

Cintron I like and still do. He has a high knock out rate. We cant forget, he wasn't fight anybody. He has a slite edge over Quintana but not in boxing skills.

Manny Pacq is good and strong but lacks boxing skills. The boy has good movement and stamina. Mayweather will out class him and take him to school. Manny didn't show a effective jab in his fight, just a flicker.

Paul has a strong chin, and good stamina so far. Paul got frustrated in his last fight and couldn't adjust. Came in over weight, didn't bend his legs and got school by a B class fighter. I still think he's good and will learn from that.

Margo has a good chin, stamina and can pressure you all night long. Margo lacks defense, has no answer for the jab, cant use his reach to his advantage and take punches. Margo lost a close decision against Clottey and Clottey hand was injured. Alot of fighter tried the pressure thing with PBF and it didn't work.

Miguel Cotto has good power, combo's to the body and pressure. Cotto has a weak chin, not so good defense and has no answer for the over right hand. Cotto to open for big shots. Cotto has two guy's thats worth talking about, Judah and Mosley. I think Cotto will give a good fight but get schooled.

All guy's have a chance but it's winning is the question. PBF has beat pressure brawlers. You cant get into a boxing match because he good at that. PBF beat guy's with smarts and a mental game. Some guy's think there power make's up for defense. Need a good effective jab, stamina and smarts. I think Clottey has a better chance than all of these guy's. I just have one thing about Clottey. Can he use his legs?

  6. The pacquiao fight would look similiar to the hatton fight, except it would go the distance and would be a little close on the scorecards, if hatton couldnt outmuscle him, pacquiao wont be able to, and neither could outbox him.

cintron may have the best shot out of the group just based on his crushing power and long arms. the losses to margarito were because cintron has trouble with pressure fighters, and mayweather is definitely not a pressure fighter

mayweather would outbox margarito with the ease of a 22 year old marine taking a sucker from a sleeping baby

williams and cintron are the only to that really have a shot at mayweather, williams doesnt have the power but he has better boxing skills and even longer arms.

just take out margarito's name and insert quintana's in the paragraph above about margarito

this would be the most entertaining fight of all, except maybe the pacquiao fight, but cotto would lose. he has short arms and not enough power  to stop mayweather.

  7. I think Paul Williams(even after his losing performance against Quintana) and Joshua Clottey have the best chances. However, Paul Williams clearly should be a super welterweight so, he might be out of the picture. Mayweather likes people who fight like Cotto,Cintron, and Margarito, they all seem to be very Hatton-like. Quintana may have a chance, but i doubt it. Clottey is defensively, technically, and offensively sound enough to beat mayweather.

  8. I think any of them if they get a lucky shot in.

  9. None of them

  10. Dont know. But I know someone who could. Harry Simon

  11. Cotto has a pretty good chance of beating mayweather, and so does Margarito.  Would it be a fight to remember? probably not. I dont see Mayweather making a statement in either fight i see him doing just enough to win like he did when he masacre De La Hoya.  by the way that was a joke "masacre"  ha, ha. Jose Luis Castillo beat Floyd years ago the first time they fought and in the reamatch floyd got on his bicycle and pedal his way to a boring victory.  Lets be honest, who would you rather fight in a street fight, mayweather or margarito? I, personaly would choose mayweather anytime.  Why?  I'll leave that up to your imagination. lets stop with this none sense of floyd being a "cash cow" everyone knows De La Hoya and Hatton can sell out venues even with 5th rate opponents.  You could easily fit all of mayweather fans in the Mens room when he fought DLH and Hatton.

  12. If Pacman can turn it into a brawl, he has a good shot, If Cotto could wear him down, he could get him late, but as for the rest I just don't see it.

  13. I would like to see those fights but I think the only one with a chance is Miguel Cotto.  Apart from that they are all very good decent fighters.  Having not fought or proven themselves against the next level and that is super fight level.  I don't want to hear down the track of how come Floyd ducked him.  Floyd was a four division Champion before fighting Oscar so he was proven.  That's what these guys have to do to get a shot at him do something extra ordinary and prove that they deserve his attention.

  14. I think Cotto because hes undefeaed, ranked 2nd best welterweight in the world. Already is a world champ and is Mayweathers biggest threat and practically ripped Quintana and Gomez apart
