  1. Money spent on elections is mostly ill gotten or black money. It remains so even after spending during election.Only thing is it passes to another person to increase his black money horde. Therefore the impact on the money supply is zero.It follows that such money has no long term impact on the homeless, the poor and the hungry.

They may however enjoy during election time in the form of free clothing, food, and liqour.

  2. None can help this.

  3. Incurring election expenses is a necessary evil

in a democracy. What is required is the will to minimise such expenses. For starters,no person

should be allowed to file nomination from more than one constituency.Presently many of our political stalwarts file nominations from two or three constituencies, fearing defeat in one or two.Once they get elected from all three, they give up two seats for which the EC has to conduct fresh elections which costs the exchequer needlessly.A suitable law should be enacted to provide for a) one candidate ,only one nomination,or b)the candidate being asked to bear the election expenses for the seat(s) surrendered.

There are other areas where needless expenses can be avoided. For example, booth

capturing by criminal elements in sensitive areas is common.Troops or police are deployed

to prevent untoward incidents. If only a suitable

law could provide for severe punishment like

life imprisonment with no parole, and no further appeal to high courts or the SC being allowed,

topped by making examples of a few culprits,

to serve as deterrents for future, needless

expenses in making such elaborate security arrangements could be avoided. There could be other areas as well.

If only one were to apply one's mind to the problem seriously, election expenses can be minimised to a great extent.

  4. Your question make no sense.  Do you speak english?

  5. I think there should be a cap on spending. I don't know how we could do it. Right now, only millionaires can run and that's not right. People like Ron Paul never stood a chance, financially - altho I didn't agree with him - money talks.
