I have been vegetarian for about a year and a half. I was wondering if any of you folks have ever tried out, attempted or become vegetarian and what you motivation was.

  1. Yep, I've more than considered more than vegetarianism. ;p

  2. I thought about it but I honestly don't think I would stick with it. I can go a few days eating all kinds of stuff n no meat but I end up craving it. So I would just fail at it I know in my heart..

  3. I am - first for religious reasons but now because of the cruel and painful way they kill animals - many of which, incidentally, could be harmful to us as well (e.g., dragging them to the slaughter where dirt and grime could be ingrained into their flesh and hard to remove, bludgeoning them over the head or stabbing/executing them with a none-too-often cleaned knife). I am not against killing animals for food, as it is part of the natural food chain, but I think human beings should, you know, be HUMANE about it. Also, it's not the healthiest option for an increasingly fat nation.

  4. I considered it for about an hour.  And then I decided to do it.  Almost twenty-two years later, the rest is history.

My motivation was ethical, environmental and health concerns.

  5. at first it was rebelling against the old school dinosaurs that wanted to tie me down. i probably went on and off for a year, and then i just realized how absolutely gross it is to take another living things life for your own personal gain. i went cold turkey and I'm still going strong. i just wanted to wash my hands of murder.

  6. I was a veggie from 18-20. I stopped because I was not getting enough protein in my diet... I'm lactose intolerant so diary was not a source of protein for me. I never really got bored. My motivation stemmed from researching slaughter houses and how badly they affect not only the treatment of the animals, but the treatment of the workers.

  7. Im a vegetarian and im so glad i am.

Im so much healthier and eating meats gross. I dont eat fish, pultry or red meat.

Ive probably been a vegetarian the same amount of time as you, since Jan 07 i think. I tried to be a vegetarian when i was in Year 8 (i was 12 or 13) but all they had at school for lunch was beef burger and loads of meaty stuff so i gave up.

My motivation was watching videos. I just think every living thing is amazing and i always check things to make sure theyre vegetarian. i also dont have fur or leather in my house and have cleaning and beauty products that havent been tested on animals.

    sorry about the rambling

    :)

  8. I'm a vegetarian and also eat meat and fish. I love all kinds of foods.

Bust most of all, I love vegetables for sure.

Hope to eat much more healthy foods.

  9. I feel bad for eating meat. I wana be a vegetarian!

  10. vegetarian for 30 years.

and not that wannabe kind who eat dairy, eggs and fish.

  11. I would love to follow a strict vegetarian diet.  My daughter tries very hard to follow only vegetarian, but it is hard since I have always learned to cook using meat.  Some of the cookbooks have ingredients I have never even heard of before.  When I asked a question similar to yours on this site concerning how to go about utilizing vegetarian diet for someone that was raised differently, I was given the "smart" answer of "quit eating meat."  I wish there was someone or some thing that could help me start a healthy vegetarian diet when it seems like a strange concept after all these years.

  12. iduno.. i can't stand thinking a little innocent animal was killed for me just to eat... imagine of u were killed for food?

  13. a moderate diet is better than one devoid of any animal products, in my humble opinion. i follow a fairly Aegean diet for  animal welfare partially, but a cultural and health connection for myself as well.  i eat only seafood milk and eggs from the animal portion of my diet, the rest being comprised of vegetables and fruits. essentially, i respect those that don't eat meat, but i also respect those that do. eating meat in itself is not wrong, it is natural, as primates (which we are) are omnivores, but the level factory farming takes it to is completely wrong and in violation of natures rules. you take, but you must give back. at the moment humanity only takes.

  14. me. i even went as far as to become a vegan.

  15. I am not a vegeterian, but i eat WAY more fruits and veggies than meat

There is a good website that shows a vid of cows being slaughtered at a meat factory      i never watched it

My friends brother did and now he is a vegeterian

    That motivated him

it could work for u 2

(srry idk the website off the top of my head)

in america the animals dont have a life

they r in buildings eating corn all their life and get killed, but in europe, the cows are let roam free and eat grass and be happy and then r killed

at least there they had a good life

  16. I am and probably will never be a vege.  I am of the opinion that a meat inclusive diet is very healthy for me.

  17. Yeah, I was a veggie for seven years, gave it up for 1.5 yrs. because I was out numbered in my home. Now, thankfully I am nearly vegan. I love animals but I also want to be healthy!

  18. I went vegan to help become healthy and fight my cancer and obesity.
