I'm tired of the assertion that the U.S. is the world's policeman. Canada has contributed troops to every Chapter Six (Peacekeeping) and Chapter Seven (Peace Enforcement) mission every authorized by the UN Security Council in the history of that organization. There's even a monument to commemorate that fact at the base of Parliament Hill in Ottawa. In fact, Canada, Austria and the Republic of Ireland have participated in more Chapter Six Peace Keeping Missions than the U.S. has. We never even contributed anything but heavy airlift capability to any peace keeping mission until after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Right now, in the Republic of Georgia, are cease fire monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). And that cease fire was brokered by the current President of the European Union who also happens to be the President of France.

Nobody asked us to be the policemen. The Iraqis didn't ask us to invade. As far as I know Georgia didn't ask us to pressure Russia.

I am definitely tired of it.  Especially when we hear the becking call from the people that need us, only to be spat on by othersthat think we go into foreign affairs without any discretion, especially by our own citizens [you Code Pinkies!].

Ya I am tired of it too...for example I'm sick of the poverty c**p like with africa...I feel bad for the kids who honestly have no parents or food, but I'm sick of our country trying to help countries like africa and all they do is take our food and shoot at us....

I THINK ITS GREAT THAT WE ARE THE NEWEST COLONIAL POWER IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. I ONLY WISH WE COULD GET IT RIGHT.
