Now I have a bf, and a mortgage.  Neither one of us would be able to keep the house without the other.

I am, and my partner is as well. We live together but we share expenses right down the middle for things that we DO share, but for our own frivolities, we pay our own way. After 10 years together, it's come down to a system, as we have worked most of the kinks out. We don't ask anything from anyone, everything we have/own is a product of our own blood, sweat and tears.

It feels mighty good to bask in that knowledge. (Sorry if I seem smug about it, but it REALLY feels good!)
