How many of you buy original art in the NYC area? Real Art?

There are lots of excellent artist in the streets, in particular the soho and union square area( Union sq, im known as Coin Man). I do sell original art works, but i see lots of you also go to galleries to buy... Alot of what you get in galleries are marked up nearly 3x to 4x the amount you would get it for if you were to buy from the artist direct, beware though of fast buck imitators (street's)... Always check to make sure with the artist. Ask questions, ask of credentials.... As real artists are not afraid to mingle with the customer or the public. Contrary to poplular opinion prominent street artist will not urinate in the street, cause trouble with store owners or businesses, make mess or garbage. The do know how to go through the proper chains and understand street vending guidelines and laws! In short they are just as Law abiding as you! Thank you! PS: you just might come across a really great deal of original work than a produced painting for $30. Also you have ONE OF A KIND ORIGINAL!

I don't buy it, though I would if I had money. I'm only 15 -.-

I see a lot in Central Park, but they are mostly photos and are everywhere, so it is not very original. I notice in Union Square they sell a lot of beautiful work, though my parents would not buy it.
