How many of you daily drive from east GTA (scarborough and further east) to West GTA?

Question

i want to know the commute time in busy hour, average gas expenese, any tips to do this busy commute in a easy way

since i am starting working from monday near pearson int. air port and i am coming from scarborough in busy hours

my work is from 8.30 to 5

I used to work farther west of the airport, Dixie Road, and drove on the 401 everyday for 7 years.  That was in the 90's, and my starting time was earlier, and the 407 wasn't open yet, so things could be a little different.  I'd advise enough sleep the night before, leave early and if you arrive too early, find a coffee place Tim's, or Williams Coffee Pub, or Country Style around there.  My guestimate, leave around 7am.  

You will encounter a few "bottle-necks" in traffic, expect it, keep your cool, stay on the highway despite them.  Have some gum or crackers or pretzels to chomp on to soothe your stress, and help keep you awake when getting stuck in traffic becomes so boring.  Its also a great time to listen to inspirational or educational recordings.  Make sure you have enough washer fluid the night before.

GO transit ended up being the wisest choice. There was much less wear and tear on my vehicle not to mention how frazzled my nerves got travelling that far.
