  1. Anyone who's thrilled about Obama must be insane.

  2. Well, if none of the 8 (or is it 9) people currently running for President is ideologically pure enough for you, my only suggestion is to run yourself.  Obviously you are perfect for the job, and no one else is.

  3. I don't. I actually think McCain and Obama are two excellent candidates, far better than the others who ran in the primaries.

What I feel disenfranchised by is the ignorance of the voters. Once again we are seeing a presidential campaign where the public responds to the most mindless ads and tactics dreamed up by PR people. What are the big issues that people pay attention to? The number of houses McCain owns? Obama's middle name? The cost of McCain's shoes? Ads which claim that Obama's charisma is a bad thing? These are all utterly mindless, and totally irrelevant, but the campaigns each have to use these tactics, because it is what voters respond to. If one campaign avoids using these tactics (as Obama did for a short while) they will fall in the polls (as Obama did).

Whoever wins is going to win apparently because millions of people will be voting based on houses, or shoes, or irrational ads. Anybody who cares about democracy should feel disenfrachised by this.

  4. In an election that democrats had IN THE BAG after 8 years of Bush, now they're about to lose it.  Instead of picking a reasonably likeable candidate who isn't too extreme, they nominate the most left wing socialist senator they have with no experience!  And the proof of that is Obama picking a 35 year veteran of the Senate as a running mate so that people can't expose that inexperience.  So much for "change" right?

And then there's McCain who is despised by the conservative base who's tired of him compromising with liberals and hinting at picking a pro-choice running mate.  McCain doesn't care about his base because he figures they'll vote for him no matter what because they're more afraid of Obama in the White House.  And he's probably right!  I can't stand McCain, but he has my vote because Obama is ten times worse.

So this year MORE THAN EVER you have the lesser of two evils.  And if McCain wins it certainly won't be because the people of this country like him.  It's simply because they're more afraid of Obama even more.  Hurray for us.

  5. I do, a choice between a naive socialist and a liberal RINO is not what I want.

  6. That's what you get when you watch corporate FOX, CNN & Co. They selected your candidates for you.

Anyone denying this is just a helpless brainwashed sap.

    It's your own fault.

  7. I wanted obama/Hillary and the world!!!!!

  8. I'm disenchanted with the government, period! You're stressing over the lesser of two evils. It's like choosing between whether you want to be set on fire with gasoline or kerosene. There's really no difference in the long run!

Edit- I should read ALL the answers before I submit mine- Xerxus said the same thing, just used spam instead of fire! Oh well- I'll take the burger. The thought of a SPAM dog right before I'm doused with an accelerant just gives me the creeps!

  9. I can easily live with Obama i can't afford more of McSame prices for everything, After what nader did ( likely for cash ) i am uneasy with third party opyions but some of what they say sounds good

  10. In order to be a candidate you have to be the biggest

crook in America... I have never seen one candidate

I would trust to shine my shoes.

They all suck but this year we have really hit the

    bottom of the barrel.

  11. I do... ALL OF THEM SUCK....

  12. disenfranchised or disappointed or both.  I feel like joining the JW's and not vote.  Did I actually say that?

  13. Not me.  I happen to like my choice.  Sorry for you.

    Obama/Biden '08

  14. I am thrilled with Obama/Biden. Who would you rather see?

  15. Absolutely, I don't like or trust either candidate. It's very sad that we have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Seems to be a trend the past two or three elections.

Personally, I was a big fan of Kucinich.

  16. My goodness! So many happy with O/B!

This is the poorest choice of candidates I've ever seen. Even Ford/Carter was better. & I agree, that the media played too big a part in selecting these guys. They gave no one else the exposure that could've given them a chance. & heaven knows we need some new ideas.

  17. Why do you feel disenfranchised? I think the choices this time around are much better than they've been in a long time.

  18. Not me.

  19. I've felt that way since 2000 when bush's cronies in florida assisted him in stealing the election.

  20. I nominated Obama because I wanted to end the war but then I saw how pro-abortion he is. So, now I am left voting for an idiot who wants to keep this war going a hundred years, voting for someone who can't win, or throwing away my ballot. If I don't vote McCain, Obama could win. Which is worse? More dead soldiers or more dead babies? Hey, why not go with Constitutional Party? Chuck Baldwin sounds pretty cool. He's alot like Ron Paul! It COULD happen.

  21. Very much so.  My vote for McCain is nothing but a vote against Obama.  The lesser of 2 evils.  We have no one to get excited about.

  22. Hobsons choice again.

  23. Don't expect too much support here.  There's a lot of people drinking the kool-aid put out by the two major parties, and you're apparently too intelligent for that.

At some point we're going to have to fight back against the stranglehold that the Democrats and Republicans have over the election process.  Don't listen to the puppets who will tell you that voting for a third party candidate is wasting your vote.  Your vote is the only power you have and I would argue that giving it to someone to avoid "the lesser of two evils" would be the definition of wasting it.

  24. I am very saddened by our choices. It is like choosing between a Spam Burger or a Spam Dog. They are both gross but you have to eat something. I am 35 and have seen a few elections in my lifetime. It seems each election the candidates get worse. Everyone seems to voting for the best of two evils instead of finding the best person for the job. US politics have become to political to where the country cannot function properly anymore.

McCain or Obama it makes no difference they are the same thing.

William Wallace is right, we are helpless brainwashed sheep because we keep allowing it to happen.

    God bless America!
