I had it with my first 3 pregnancies, but not my 4th! I have been really well mentally for 4 yrs and would like to let people know, there is light at the end of the tunnel! How long did you have it and what success stories do you have?

I had it after my 1st child, born at 33 weeks, I had also been in hosp since 29 weeks due to pre eclampsia! i was too ashamed to tell anyone till he was 8 months old! By which time i couldn't eat or get off the toilet! I had lost weight and was quite unwell! I went on antidepressants till he was about 13 months old!

When i had my 2nd child, the minute i gave birth, it was like a switch went off in my head, so the dr's trusted me when I asked for antidepressants and i went on them 4 days after he was born!

When i had my 3rd child after my waters breaking at 30 weeks and then had her at 33 weeks and then she had a cleft palate, I had pnd again, but i think worrying about her operation for 8 mths was the reason!

I had obviously had problem in pregnancy, but it doesn't mean you wont get pnd if pregnancy is straight forward! Stories of encoragement please!
