  1. yess....i have insomnia. :)

  2. My family has a long history of sleep disorders.

I have Insomnia my mother had night terrors my brothers sleep walk and my aunt stops breathing in her sleep. If you can't sleep my recommendation is to skip sleeping every other night and try to fall asleep on the following day (Works for me but probably isn't very healthy) if you go the way of medication like I did you may get addicted also like I did

  3. That's why I'm on Y/A -- there's nothing else to do at 5.24a.m

  4. i have problems sleeping at night; then sleep during the day.  my meds have allot to do with sleep disorder.  i'm on allot of pain medication and meds for depression.  i think they all just contradict one another.  hopefully you receive an answer that helps with ur problem. Lisa

  5. I used to have a big problem with insomnia, so I have a whole bunch of suggestions. You can try a few of the methods below, and see what works best for you. Let me first say that if you have a lot of stress, you might want to talk to a counselor or therapist to get some input into how to resolve the reasons for the stress. On to the list!!!

Depending on the season, a warm bath with lavender oil or whatever oil is most soothing for you, is a great way to relax both your body and your mind. If you can’t take a bath, you can give yourself a foot massage with slightly warm oil, preferably sesame oil or castor oil.

What was very helpful to me, especially when my mind was racing, was to lie in bed and listen to relaxation CDs, especially those that contain someone speaking with relaxing music in the background. Many of these CDs are available on eBay for very low prices.

A relaxation technique similar to meditation is relax your body one part at a time. So you could relax your feet, your lower legs, upper legs, moving up from your lower belly up to your chest, etc., etc.

Of course, guided relaxation methods can help, imagining yourself in the country, the beach, or whatever is most soothing to you.

There are herbs that are helpful for sleep, eg, valerian root, kava kava, chamomile, hops, passion flower, catnip. If you get the real herbs, you can make teas out of them. Otherwise get the herbs in capsule form. You can try a single herb or combinations of herbs. Probably, valerian root and kava kava are the best.

Trytophan or 5-HTP can help. I would avoid using melatonin on a regular basis. It is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. If you keep taking melatonin, your pituitary gland can get "lazy" and produce less melatonin naturally.

If none of this c**p works, get a gun and go to a local drug store. Say to the cashier, "This is a stick up. Give me all the sleeping pills you have. Just do what I say and no one will get hurt."

  6. I do. I take an allergy medication though each night that puts me to sleep for a few hours.

  7. I do.  Maybe for a month or so I will have Insomnia and then the following month Iam not able to stop sleeping and sleep about 14 hours per day.  It sucks!

  8. I do.
