After seeing another question, I was curious about how many parents have actually searched their child up on a social networking site.

Where you surprised about what you saw?

  1. sorry just had to comment..

i'm a 16 year old girl, my parents know of my myspace and facebook and every once and a while they ask to see it, i show it to them, because i have nothing on there that they wouldn't approve of..most of my friends parents don't do what my parents do, and i will tell you a lot of my friends parents would be TOTALLY SHOCKED at what their child does on the internet. its almost comical how naive a lot of them are.

  2. I have yes! There are too many weirdos out there for me to not know who she is talking to. As far as being surprised about what I saw. Not really, I know what kind of things she is into and I always look at her pics when transferring them from her camera to the computer.

  3. No but I've got my brother on my friends list on a couple of sites. There's been some things that he's seen and hasn't been to happy about, but nothing major. We don't keep secrets from each-other.  I wouldn't like my parents to see my social networking sites though, they are adults. People of their age can't relate to people my age particularly well.

  4. I have not, but it'd be difficult to do since a lot of people make those sites (myspace, facebook) private.

  5. what are you talking about /

  6. Not only do I look them up and find them, but occasionally I appear in person and ask them to show me their pages and activity.  My kids 13 and 15 don't have anything to hide, thankfully.

I've been surpirsed at some of their friends' public sites, however, mostly I find great kids with great ideas and senses of humor.

  7. lol, i searched my mom on facebook, was not surprised at what i saw. I know most of her friends, they come over alot. If i was a parent i would definitely search them up, lol, i would even add them to my freind list, i am a pretty laid back person, my kids would not have to worry about getting in trouble with the things that i see on their profile.so, i see no problem in it.
