  1. I like watching Soaps =). I'm 16, and I grew up watching CBS Soaps at my baby-sitters. Today, I have lost interest in the ones I was least interested in back then: Y&R and B&B. "As the World Turns" was and is my favorite soap; even with school, I will catch up on it. "Guiding Light" is also a favorite of mine, but I watch it less faithfully than ATWT.

My interest in Soaps grew this summer, and I haven't missed a day of ATWT since early July. I found out that it's still an amazing soap, and I'm sticking with it. I love the drama...and I love how issues such as homosexuality are incorporated. It's not reality TV, but it's so different from primetime. And it's very easy to follow and never easy to predict! I like the mystery, and in my opinion- Soap opera actors/actresses are the best in the television business. They are never boring to watch!

Actually, a lot of men watch soap operas. Here are the results from last week:

    Men 18+ Viewers

    1. Y&R 1,281,000 (+39,000/-65,000)

    2. B&B 826,000 (+31,000/-105,000)

    3. DAYS 822,000 (+21,000/+301,000)

    4. ATWT 535,000 (+13,000/-103,000)

    5. GH 501,000 (-26,000/-125,000)

    6. AMC 453,000 (+14,000/-143,000)

    7. GL 442,000 (-20,000/-37,000)

    8. OLTL 433,000 (-20,000/-180,000)

  2. My step grand dad used to watch it with us (my grandma & I) before he died.

  3. My brother and I both watch soaps.

He watches One Life to Live religiously, and I never miss Y&R, but like OLTL and a few others as well.  Our grandparents raised us and they loved their "stories" - I remember being a little child awestruck by the glitz, glamour, romance, drama, and general insanity of the stories.  And I still love them because it's almost like the characters are a part of your family.

Like Starr on OLTL, we've been growing up with her and when Cassie Newman died on Y&R it was like a family member passed away - soaps are on everyday, and they never end, so it's sort of a comfort thing.  I love them when they're good and I will cry out passionately when the stories/writing go in the wrong direction.

  4. I watch soaps, but it's mostly Young and the Restless and sometimes Bold and the Beautiful on there.  Those two have really interesting sl's, and Michelle Stafford's portrayal of Phyllis on Y&R is just divine - when her character is written properly, that is.  I also post on a soap opera message board where I am very good friends with many of the women who post there.

  5. Well my brother watches them.  He just likes the drama, and i think he likes the girls on them! =P

  6. I was watching Y&R and my husband wanted to turn the channel and I screamed.   So he sat and watched it with me now he is hooked on it.  He can't wait for it to come on to find out was is going on.  He even screams at the T.V. when he doesn't like something.  And he always said it was stupid to watch soaps.  Boy has he changed his tune.

  7. mu husband watches them. he started while on paternity leave. he really like y&r because he loves trying to figure out whats goin on.

  8. lately my husband has been watching one life to life with me but he makes jokes about them, like why they always walk to a corner and look away when they talk he thinks it's funny.  but after awhile i prefer to watch it alone because he asks to many question "like you can't wait till the end"
