Things around my home have been stressing me out lately and I been craving for a cigarette. I had my baby almost 2 months ago and I been doing so good on not smoking since the day I found out I was pregnant with my son. Well my husband still has that bad habit and won't stop and now I been trying to sneak one and it just isn;'t worth my time. have that ever happened to you before and decided to do it all over again???

  1. My wife did start smoking again but her doctor insisted she should stop so she took up some self hypnosis and was able to stop for the sake of baby and other kids.

  2. I was in the same situation, from the minute I even suspected that i was pregnant I didn't smoke.  Then a few months after my son was born I just had to.  There was way to much stress in my life.  I just made sure that my son was never around when I did it.

  3. I quit 7 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my first and haven't touched one since! Believe it or not it (not smoking and being a new mommy) does get easier! I also know if i ever did pick up that first cig, I would probably not be able to stop.

Congratulations on the new baby!! Way to go with the no smoking!! Good luck staying a non smoker!! Your baby thanks you.

  4. for your baby's sake  DON'T START SMOKING.

Smoking is toxic.there are other ways of stress control.

smoking depletes vitamins in your body.poisons your blood, tissues and organs.

cuts your lifespan and life quality short.

its simply not good. not to mention it starves your brain of oxygen.

    defiantly not worth the benefits.

if you are having stress troubles try stress relief ways such as deep breathing, meditation etc

you can also try anti stress vitamins such as Vitamin A, B, C and E.

the supplement L-THEANINE from suntheanine is a GREAT stress and anxiety reducer amino acid.

if you do not want to buy those supplements then you can buy b-relaxed vitamin water that has theanine in it.

    good luck

  5. you know i find that most of all my friends that smoked before there kid did it again  shortly after . an then had to stop all over again for there second child. i guess it depends on how much stress is in your home

  6. yup...started again like an idiot!!!

I kick myself everyday, but am NEVER near my son, always wash my hands, and change my shirt after.  I have a "smoking shirt".  Unfortunately, sometimes that is the only 5 mins I get to myself!!

  7. I quit when I found out I was pregnant and haven't smoked since (baby is 7 1/2 months now).  I won't ever smoke again because I know I would get right back into the habit. For me, it's so addictive. And, let's face it -- smoking is relaxing and nice, especially when you have a hot cup of coffee or a glass of wine....  So, yes, when I'm out having a drink with my friends or husband I often think, "oh, a cigarette would be so nice...."

I think this will pass with time, or, maybe it never will. but, regardless, I know i can never have another cigarette and I am happy as can be with my decision. i've wanted to quit for years and getting pregnant was my opportunity to have a clean break from it!! It would have be SO hard to quit had i not gotten pregnant!!

I say, don't do it!!!! be strong!!
