How many of you own a DAB Digital Radio....and why/why not?

Several Digital Radio stations have shut down recently because the radio company that owns them reckon that DAB doesn't really have a future?

Just wondered how many of you own a digital radio and if you do, why, and if you don't, why not?

  1. They're just a tiny bit pricey at the moment, although they are coming down.

Digital quality is obviously superior. I will get one soon.

  2. They are awfully pricey for what they are - outdated technology. Add in the fact that most radio stations play all the same rubbish, and suddenly better sound quality doesn't matter so much.

Soon enough portable internet radio will be a reality, and then DAB will be completely moribund.

  3. I don't own one because the one I did own went caput after about 6 months. It was a Xmas present and the receipt had been lost.

  4. I don't own a dab radio for several reasons:

-Price, too dear for good dab radio.

-Signal, in wales dab coverage is poor.

-Internet, Radio streaming is always available.

-iPod, I mainly listen to podcasts.

    The big one...

-Choice, Ok this one is a little difficult to describe but radio shows rather than radio stations. I like Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode on Five Live for example but, I don't have time to listen to them in the day, so I subscribe to the podcast instead. I wouldn't want to listen to Five Live otherwise. Also I can pause the show to make a cup of tea with a podcast. There's a lot more choice with cheaper technology.

  5. I do not own a DAB. I am waiting for more models and the price to come down a little further.

  6. I do because my old radio wasn't very good, and i wanted something that could charge my ipod aswell as llet me listen to it out lod. i got the pure chronos idock and its very good :)

got a remote control aswell, so i like it and there have been any problems after a month

  7. I own a Roberts but I hate it when it goes off station

  8. i will be honest i bought one for my kitchen to look good and to say yer i have one, but to be honest i find my old analog radio a far better quality and can not understand what the fuss is about,

i like the look of the set i have in it's all wooden case ,looks quite retro and pretty cool lite up neon blue but that is about all and i never really use it

    regards x Kitti x
