How many of you play or know someone who plays Diablo 2 (the non-expansion one)?

I just bought Diablo 2 and I want to know if it is worth opening it and not being able to return it. I normally would play on Battle.net and I really want to know if people still play it. Please tell me if you play or know someone who still plays it.

Yes, thousands of people still play it online. Open it and have fun, it's an awesome game.

Yes alot of people still play it.  It is a fun game!!  Unfortunately I play the expansion otherwise I would offer to play with you.
