  1. I do & I've expressed my view about that in your earlier question too. But one thing is there that it will never be as popular as the men's cricket, because you can't deny the difference between standard of play.

EDIT- No offence, but by "standard" I mean men's cricket involves more strength & the highest bowling speed by the fastest woman cricketer would be under 140 kph. So just that I mean but I agree it deserves more attention than its getting.

  2. I think so. They must also be given the same status as their male counterparts, especially in the cricket-crazy subcontinent where every player wants to reach the international platform. They(women cricketers) surely dont bring down India or some other country's reputation by playing, rather they up the popularity and standard of game there, coz men will b shameful n perform better if women outscore them in popularity, for the rule of male cricket will b challenged!!!

  3. Yes, I do. I asked a similar question to this several months ago which, not to put to fine a point on it, was met with howls of derision from most of the users on here. Common statements were that womens cricket is boring and slow, nobody would watch it unless it was for the purposes of sexual gratification, and they did not have the 'power' to match the mens game.

I strongly feel that more investment needs to be made in the womens game. Whilst acknowledging that the 'power' aspect will almost undoubtedly never match the mens game, there is nothing to stop women emulating the technique and artistry of some of the mens players. For those of us becoming increasingly frustrated by the 'crash-bang-wallop' of the mens game, and good contest between two female sides playing a good standard of cricket could be a welcome relief. A comparisi=on I would draw is with tennis: in the 90's men's tennis became increasingly unwatchable, especially on grass, but eventually on al surfaces, as it was dominated by the big servers, and we hardly saw any rallies. During this period womens tennis prospered, as more people started to take an interest in it. More investment was made, sponsors were attracted, and now it has attained equal billing with the mens competition.

So yes, I think womens cricket deserves more recognition.

  4. I sincerely do think the same. Women's cricket definitely need better recognition, and publicity. The upliftment of the standard of the game can only be possible if better training and coaching facilities are provided for the women cricketers, in the same way as their male counterparts recieve such facilities. Also, if women's cricket is given more publicity by the media, as well as the common mass, then more and more talented girls will be encouraged to take up the game. Even now, the belief is that there isn't any future for women cricketers, as they can never climb to the peak of popularity or earn so much money that the male cricketers do. This belief is hindering the elevation of the standard of women's cricket. Personally, I think that if women can excel in most other sports like tennis, badminton, swimming, etc, then mastering crciket won't be that difficult for them. The only thing is that cricket is a technical sport, and requires proper training. According to me, in cricket, the skill of a player is even more important than the mere physical strength.

  5. Ya the women cricketers need more recognition. Actually the BCCI has done good job by adopting womens cricket in India.

They should plan something like IPL for womens to bring them in limelight. I'm sure if this works out to be successful, womens cricket will be famous in the world.

After all we are the richest culb in the world. The BCCI should give it a thaught.

  6. The change is happening as recently BCCI has taken the responsibilities from the  Women's Cricket Association. The matter of fact is do the T.V. channels help to transmit the live action of the cricket matches played its only Doordarshan who transmit the action but tell me how many of us do watch doordarshan. Getting recognition is not a problem they need need sponsors. This problem is faced by all the countries and not only India. They deserve recognition but until and unless the above points are solved they cannot get their dues. Its onto us how do we see this situation.

  7. I think any womens sport is slow & boring. I never watch it.

  8. i do i find it's like that ion every sport.

i live in Canada but i think it's the same in most countries.

for example we do have a womens hockey team but our national team is all men.

or for cities like football, hockey baseball,, all the teams are all men no women i think that the s*x of the person shouldn't matter and that women should be recognized more often!

  9. I have watched most of the women cricket matchs in my place - India - England - Australia - In the matches i notice that there a good players but not so exiting as men's cricket is..its too slow to be frank - If women cricket picks up the speed then they can be more exiting matchs ahead

  10. Yeaaaa they completly do because it a very hard and grueling sport to go through. I would love for them to show more respect to them because they all deserve it! Its hard for many men to go through the game so its very special for women to go through it too! The really deserve more respect. =)

  11. uhh no, i have never even seen the sport played in my life by men, let alone give women more recognition for it.

  12. They do deserve more recognition as it is seen in the past few years womens team has become the best in international cricket.

And if we look at the stats the performance of womens has been better than their counterparts i.e.their win ratio is better than men !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. i seriosly think
