  1. Harley dealer? No, no way, He** no, nope, never will. this goes for every stinking one of 'em.

  2. Come on HD you really have to ask !!! he-- fn NO

I used to be one and to follow their guidelines you have to be a first class *************************** you fill in what ever you want to put I have enough violations already

I lasted with Harley 3 Months in 81 that was enough for me I cant deal with people the way they told me to

  3. Cornportos dealership flys the Rainbow flag !

  4. No. I ride Harley and I hate the dealerships. It is my opinion that they prey on stupid people with disposable incomes.

  5. My dealer and its service center are great - I trust them.  Of course, I don't ride a "lifestyle" made by a company that makes t-shirts and profits from selling pirate costumes and chinese chrome.

  6. Depends on the conversation. Weather? Trust them. The shape of that used bike over there? Not a word of truth. A new bike? How hungry does he look? A salesman that sells a lot of bikes and has repeat customers is a salesman that is either honest with the customer or is extremely lucky to have never sold a bad unit. A service department that has repeat customers is a good shop and do reasonable work. Look at the condition you get the bike back in. Is it scratched or the bolts screwed up (rounded from the wrench slipping) are parts loose? Stay away from that shop if that is true. I found a socket still hanging in a bolt on mine the last time. I gave the service manager h**l and inspected the bike before leaving with it.

  7. I don't.

Received a quote to replace the fork seal on my Honda.

    $150 plus labor.

Doesn't sound too bad, does it?

That was the price of me handing them the fork leg.  I remove the fork leg from the bike.

No frigging way am I paying that much money.

So in about 40 minutes I removed the fork leg and had the seal in my hand.  Front wheel was not on the bike at the time.  Fork seal (not in stock) $18.95.  $12.76 from Direct Line Parts.  Right front OEM brake pads from dealer over $180????  $47.69 from Direct Line Parts.

No thanks, just cannot patronize the stealership.

BTW, Direct Line Parts has two brick and mortar stores.

  8. i trust the parts guys

a few dealers i buy wholesale from, but most sales depts want too much money (and i buy them to resell myself being a dealer, but not a franchised bike dealer.... so i don't fit as a stealership)

the service guys i ever talk to tend to be quacks... the independents know their sh*t

  9. Trust a dealer, yea right.  You need to share that stuff you're smoking, alot of us could really use it.

  10. I found out that my motorcycle runs like cr-p when it has too much oil in it ... because the dealer service dept put too much oil in it.  Got that from two dealers, too.  Same with not gapping new spark plugs.

I need them for doing the work I can't do myself, unfortunately.

  11. I trust my dealer 100%. If I didn't, he wouldn't be my dealer.

  12. Not at all here.

The only thing I use the stealers for are to buy the bike.  I do all of my own maintenance, and I've been lucky enough to never have anything major happen that needs Dealer only work.  As far as the info on the bikes, I always talk to the guy that just road 1500 miles on one for his opinion, rather than the kid that tell me the same thing the brochure says, and makes up stories to try to be my buddy.
