And if you do now is the time to give it and them a shout out! And do you think your favorite Sprint driver would give them a shot?

  1. I wished I could, there is not a track(of anykind) within 80 miles here where I live in Texas.

  2. Don't have one. :(

  3. I'm a volunteer member of "The World Famous Eagle Raceway" towing crew (just to clarify the track is supposed to be famous, you wouldn't know us tow crew guys if we came up and bit you).  So I'm at the track EVERY Saturday night, plus the odd Thursday (when a bunch of Cup guys came to race with the locals, although it ended up raining out), Friday, and Sunday.

I also go to nearby I-80 Speedway (where Carl Edwards' little brother Kenny races and where Carl dislocated his thumb in a wreck with his bro and about 10 other guys last year), and grew up within about a 5 minute drive of the likely soon to be defunct Freeport Raceway Park.

Unlike many armchair racefans I'd NEVER think of missing a live "short-track Saturday night" to sit and watch (and nap through most of) a Sprint Cup race.  If I want to watch the Cup race that's what the DVR is for.  Although I don't remember the last time I even bothered with that........

  4. Since NASCAR got the COT find I am enjoying local track at Lakeland lot more  Real stock car racing with drivers that are hungry to make money not commercial spots

  5. Go out to Irwindale Speedway out here in Calif as often as I can..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  6. When we had one I would go all the time. Too bad it had to close now ther are no tracks around to see some good old fashion racing near me. ( Wow hope I wasn't bad luck for them)

  7. That's a dang good question.

I go to Rocky Mountain Raceway in Utah.

    Zachary Webster is my fav.

Rowdy's got an understudy already(go figure at 23 to have an understudy) so ya never know.

Zach's still a little rough around the edges.

  8. I go often to Hagerstown (MD.) Speedway, which is mostly a Late Model track (we know several drivers). For Sprints, I go to Port Royal, PA, where I root for Keith Kauffman.

  9. i guess if i did i'd be sitting at NH speedway in Loudon, NH rooting for

Rousch-Fenway. but i've never been to Loudon. i guess i'm kind of a NASCAR

couch potato, but i guess it's more appealing to me than being a shriveled

up french fry sizzling on metal seats in the blazing sun for 16 hrs. i

don't  do sun too well, and BTW: i'm also a JGR and Penske fan. so much for

    rooting for the home team.

  10. Yes we go to Langley motor speedway. Not any real favorite driver yet as I just began but I am sure by next season I will have one picked out.

  11. oh yes go to the local track all the time. Ocala Speedway.  they went bact to dirt and it is one heck of a show.

  12. I go to Wartburg Speedway and Crossville Speedway when I can.

When I was little we would go to dirt tracks all over the place for some big races, including Eldora, Oh, Dixie Speedway, Ga, Pennsboro Speedway, WV, Florence Speedway, Ky, Atomic Speedway, Tn, Volunteer Speedway, Tn, Tazewell Speedway, Tn, Lake Cumberland, Ky, Barren County, Ky, Scenic Raceway, Tn, Bristol Motor Speedway on dirt, Tn, and some others. It was funnn. Nowadays with gas so expensive it is hard to go to far out of the way

And of course my favorite drivers would be the Tennessee drivers, Scott Bloomquist and Jimmy Owens!! Two of the best dirt late model drivers in the country!! Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch would probably hold their own with these guys, based on what I have seen them do in a dirt late model. However, I think the experience factor would come into play and the late model boys would pull out the win.

  13. I go the Rockford Speedway for every race they have there. Now it is surronded by subdivisions so I hope the track stays where it is.

  14. Yep I do.  I love Fonda Speedway.  I have been going there since I was a kid.  It's right next to the Mohawk River in Montgomery County.

Here is a little sample of Fonda's dirt modified on YouTube

Richard Petty and Ken Schrader have both raced there.  Ken comes back almost every year.  I got to meet him!!   Funny and sweet.
