yes, on sub continent , they will be matching Pak and India and come out of their minnow status however on seaming pitches their batsmen and pace bowlers will remain a failure and will be a cause of their downfall as usual, so i would say, they remain minnows outside the sub continent !

Yes, I do. Muttiah Muralitharan has been doing wonders for his team Sri Lanka throughout his career, and their new found mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis is sure to take the Lankan bowling attack to a higher level.

Since Mendis' unorthodox action leaves most batsmen clueless, and even the Indians, who are generally recognised as the best players of spin struggled so miserably against him, I wonder how well he would do against other teams, which aren't so good in playing spin.

While M & M are the lethal forces in Sri Lanka team now, I do not think they can reach No. 1 spot in the near future.  In course of time, batsmen will start dominating Mendis and he will cease to be the danger man in course of time.
