I try to recycle, but other housemates aren't as "in" to it as I am, so I end up picking up after them.

Absolutely everything!!  reduce, re-use, re-cycle.  It annoys me hugely when others don't. Our coucils will be charged if we don't meet our refuse targets, which means WE directly will be charged too.  So, if your not bothered about OUR HEALTH, OUR ENVIRONMENT & OUR WORLD, unlike me, then think for a second about OUR pockets too.  EVERYONE will suffer for those who won't or don't recycle.  Why should I have to pay for others wasteful & lazy ways?!!  I have 5 composters, several black boxes, blue bins, 2 water butts, take stuff to charity or have occassional car boots, use freecycle (of course!), re-sew clothes, rejuevenate & remake things from people's old junk & primarily I don't buy non essentials & try not to buy new anything...it's fun & rewarding.

in england theyve made it compulsary to recycle..so now i have 3 bins...which does actually make me recycle, because some bin men refuse to take your rubbish if its not in the right bin =/

WE DO.  For years we have recycled tin cans, glass bottles, plastic containers, milk cartons, newspapers, cardboard,  and clothing.  Yard waste goes to a compost site and in the following year we can pick up soil from the composted material.  Cuts down of potting soil in plastic bags.  We have planted alot of trees to recycle carbon dioxide, and we drive a very fuel efficient vehicle, not a hybrid yet, and where possible, walk.  If this sounds like a big job, it really is not.  We have lots of time for fun and R&R  www.e-zpoolcare.com

I recycle everything. I just throw all polymer based c**p into one bag and paper into another. Not sure all of it is recyclable though.

I do, we have recycling bins where I live right by the dumpster so it's easy.  I still see people throw milk jugs and stuff in the dumpster, how annoying!

I have for the past 20 years. I can't believe the stuff some of my neighbours insist on tossing in the trash instead of recycling it.

in Germany, they are extremely anal about recycling. they have like 10 different bins to put things.. there is paper, plastic, perishables, clean paper.(which i don't understand)metal.. bottle's have to be separate by glass type.. i.e. brown glass.. green glass. i do recycle but this is a Lil too much for me.  some stuff goes in a yellow bag and some in a clear bag. if you just throw all your garbage away in a normal garbage bag.. they charge you extra.

I RECYCLE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BUT ITS GETTING TO THE STAGE WHERE WE NEED NEW BINS IN ORDER TO RECYCLE MORE.  SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO PUT THE RECYCLING IN THE CAR AND TAKE IT TO THE HOUSEHOLDERS WASTE WHICH IS QUITE ANNOYING.

i don't recycle because i live in apartment rent but i reuse all of my plastic shopping bags, i use only tap filtered water so i don't use plastic bottles. I advice everyone to do so, bottled water is no better than tap water and it has sooo much effect on our environment. So i basically try to reuse as much as i can.
