How many of you use a bumper pad in the crib?

Question

I'm just curious how many do or don't use them.

And if you don't, why?

I use a breathable bumper. Stops the baby from hurting themselves, but still allows air to circulate.

I never installed mine, and my baby is 3 months old now.

They are starting to say that crib bumper pads are a suffocation risk, so I think it's better to go without! But they sure are a cute little accessory... :)

i do. my son rolls around in his sleep alot and i'm afraid he would bash his head on the rails if we didnt have that in there.

you dont have to use it when they are newborns.. i guess mommies use it because it completes the look of the crib set.. its cute... why not? but when baby is old enough to roll over and move around while sleeping bumper pads are to protect them from hurting them..  its a must.

my little boy is 6 months old, i just put the bumber pads on bc he was getting caught in the rails and also got a bruise on his head.... but my friends little boy is 9 months and to this day she dont use them.. i think they are pretty safe, i wouldnt to much worry, i would worry more him/her getting thier arm or leg in the rail and breaking it. hope that helps

i had them just to complete the look i had everything matching and my walls i had my husband and my dad paint the top half a light pink then in the middle a boarder with a fairy princess bear a castle a carriage with a horse a frog with a crown and flowers and my crib set matched the bottom half of the walls were 4 inch strip of purple 2 inch strip of yellow 4 inch blue 2 inch yellow and so on all of those colors were in the boarder i had cherry wood furniture it was beautiful.. now did she sleep in there? NO not even once lol i did put her in the bed and take some pictures

My baby is 7 1/2 months and I've used a bumper from day 1.  It's especially important now that she's mobile and moving all over the crib. She would bump her head an awful lot otherwise! If you want to use a bumper, go for it, it's not going to cause SIDs.

my daughter just turned one. i just stopped using them. now that she can stand up in her crib and stuff she steps on it and also she unties the strings. they are cute though.
