I have both types of bulbs in my house. I'm only switching them with the others burn out. I'm still trying to figure out if it would be financially beneficial to throw away perfectly good light bulbs to switch to green ones.

If anyone has insight on that, I'd love to hear it.

I switched my entire home over to the florescent bulbs. They cost a little more, but they overall energy savings will be worth it. With all my energy conservation, I got my electric bill to under $70 a month. Many companies will be phasing out the old lightbulbs anyway, so you might as well switch now.
