I was just wondering how many of you watched Baby Borrowers and did you learn anything from it. I have always said the best cure for teen pregnancy was to have the girl go stay for about 2 weeks with a teen mother who has to do most of everything on her own, and let them see how hard it really is. Let them see they can't just do their own thing anymore. Let them see the financial stress, the emotional stress, the lack of sleep etc.

  1. I did.  It was pretty crazy.  I thought whoever came up with that show was brilliant.

  2. i did!

  3. I watched the show and I found it to be unrealistic.  These teens were given upper middle class homes, vehicles, etc.  The babies were only with them for a few days, and they were shadowed by a nanny.  This is not the real world.  Put them in a small apartment and hand them a bus pass!  Let them struggle to buy groceries and pay bills while working at a crappy minimum wage job.

  4. No, I didn't.  I saw the promos for it and it didn't interest me.  I would never allow my children to stay with a stranger who didn't know what the heck they were doing for a couple days.  It would just make me angry to watch it.

It was weeks?!  Can you imagine doing that to your child?  Why would someone want to do that to their baby?

  5. I watched some of it, but no show is going to stop teens from getting knocked up...they think it's cool. They think it's cool to live on welfare, and since society says it's ok (i.e Jamie Lynn Spears) then they think it's ok for them to do it...

  6. The show was brilliant.  I only watched a few episodes because I get to hear my own newborn crying enough.  I couldn't stand to hear  all those babies throwing fits on tv too, LOL.

  7. No I never watched it, but after reading the comments I wish I did : )

  8. I've seen parts of it here and there.  I saw the part where the one girl, Morgan, had to continue on her own as a 'single' teen mom.  After what I had seen of her before, after that I was quite impressed with her and her decision to stay without her bf.  Yeah, it's something when you have a partner to share the responsibility with, but even something more when you don't.  It's hard to be a single mom who works full time and supports you and your child on one income, and who has to come home and take care of things that need to be taken care of there.  And when you do find time to go out with your child to try to do stuff, it doesn't always work out.  It's a big change after being on your own and working whenever you want to with your only responsibility being yourself, and being able to be out at night when you want to as opposed to having to be home to get your little one in bed.  When I saw the parts with the older kids and seniors, I kinda felt bad cuz even real life parents get a chance to grow with the kids or their own parents and learn certain things, whereas the teens were just thrown into it.  Us real life parents get a chance to have the experiences before toddlers and teens, to have somewhat an idea on how to handle certain things later on.

  9. I caught one episode...... and yes.... it is a good eye opener to all those reckless teenagers out there....  now we can only hope they apply the knowledge of how hard teenage parenthood can be......  but honestly i doubt it will have a real impact on the general population of teenagers having unprotected s*x........ which is unforutnate.......

Now the real question is how could those parents sit and watch a bunch of teenagers handle there babies...... especially how the teenagers we acting....... to me..... that is scary!
