  1. Me!  Me!  Me!

    I always ask my mom for advice... And I used to never listen to it... And then like 4 months later, I'd go back to mom and say "ARGH!  I wish I would have listened to what you told me!"

    LOL

  2. My mother wasn't big on handing out advice.  She was pretty easy going on the whole.

  3. I don't think mother knows best all the time, but when you get older, you see where they were coming from, telling you to do or not do some things you disagree with. And in some instances I'm happy I didn't listen (since we all have to learn the hard way sometimes), but sometimes I remember something my mother or father said and think "d**n, wish I would have listened. Then ____ wouldn't have happened!"

  4. I was a bit of a wild child. so yes there are time when I wish I had l listened to my folks. but as they saying goes hide sight is always 20/20. my mother was fond of saying " some day you will understand and thank me"

    I am grown with 2 boys now and not only do I understand and thank her but often find my self wanting to tell her sorry for the things I did that made her crazy when I was young.

    I am eagerly awaiting such a call from my boys when they are grown...{lol}

  5. i do on somethings but ill never tell them that...lol

  6. No. I never agreed with my dad and my step-mothers parenting skills and I am very happy that I was and am strong minded enough to think and do for myself...however, I do wish that I would have listened when they said for me to finish school before marriage or kids. I got married when I was 20 and quit school......was married for 4yrs, just had first baby and my husband left me.....so then, I wished I would have listened because I had nothing to fall back on....I went back to school and struggled with a job...hubby and I reconciled and had another baby and I continue to go to school...I will have 2 degree's in about 1 1/2yrs and I am a SAHM raising my 4yr old son and 2yr old daughter.

  7. It depends on the mother, LOL!

    My mother is pretty sharp.  I can't say we've always agreed or always will agree, but I listen to her opinion.  Ditto for one of my grandmothers - smart and practical, and while I didn't always agree, she always had a point.

    My mother-in-law tends to be a little less helpful - she doesn't like to say things that might insult someone, and she's very superstitious and tends to worry.  She's like my other grandmother - they both meant well, but if you listened to them too closely, you might end up hiding under the covers in your bedroom, waiting for Armageddon.

    I've never regretted choosing my own path.  I've sometimes regretted not listening to others before I set out.

  8. Mother usually knows best but child thinks she doesn't, so they need to find it out on their own.  There is some advice i wish i had listened to my mom on...and sometimes i tell her that now that i'm grown up.

  9. Good mothers usually know best, but don't tell my mother I said so.  She's been trying to get me to say it for 30 some-odd years..lol!
