Question:

How many other people are tired of it?

How many other people that regurly come here are tired of all the people who claim to be BJJ/Muay Thai/Judo, Ninjitsu, krav maga, etc experts yet there have been numerous quizes asked on here on simple basic techniques, and it is always the same people answering them. I mean you have people that don't even take BJJ or Judo that are answering questions on that, and doing well, and having those same people answer on a Muay Thai quiz and do well also.

So how many of you are tired of the fact that these people seem to always be there for the best style questions or the what should I take questions, yet are strangely absent when an actual question about technique is asked?

  1. Honestly, it doesn't bother me.  You have to realize there will always be people who claim to be something they're not, or better then they are.  We all have anonymity, so we can all pretend.

If it bothers you, that's too bad.  Just realize that in the grand scheme of things, people on here don't mean anything in the real world.

  2. yup. those people are the little white belts who turn their back to you in a spar and then get you in trouble, their the ones that take 5 classes and think they are the best, their the little sh**s that put their 2 cents in for anything that doesnt matter, but when a question comes along that can actually help some excel in martial arts, their no where to be found

  3. ITs funny because when I train Muay Thai there are usually only 5 or 6 of us who truly spar, but the guys leaving the Gym decked out in Fairtex gear and Chute Boxe T-Shirts are the guys that hang near the bags when it comes time to play heavyweights in the ring or have a sore back, or have to go to dinner at their girlfriends tonight or whatever it may be.  I mean they have the Tapout Stickers on the car, tattoos of how much Thai or BJJ REALLY mean to them, the best gear you can get your hands on and a $150 monthly, but ask them to mix it up real time and very few are game and thats OK, just don't like that they are the tough guy persona when truly tough fighters are usually the most humble

There are few guys from my Gym that answer questions from time to time, but I have noticed that since they know what my screenname is now they rarely post in the same threads.

I don't know if I am sick of it or not, it really doesn't bother me too much on the internet, I mean after all its the internet...but I really dislike these guys who aren't there to train, they are there to be social and a part of the group, thats fine too, but please don't come to the open workouts, stay in the classes, getting hit in the face isn't for everyone and that is OK.

  4. I study several arts, but only one of which I can truly give advice on, Kenjutsu.

I have a decent understanding of the various arts, but I am no expert at them.  For example, as you told me in an e-mail, I made a mistake when I omitted the Sai as a wepon in Karate.  You are more experienced in Karate than I am and I geniuenly appreciated your correction.

We learn from our mistakes and from those more experienced.  I have physically dabbled in several arts, but only a few of which I could competently say I can use in a real fight.  As such, I really have no right to bash any style, neither does anyone else for that matter.

    I appreciate your insightful question.

  5. is this how you spend your internet time? listing names and styles and comparing them to answers for proof of true experience?

    too funny.

there will always be armchair experts who have no idea about the macho heroics they claim to be a part of. it is human nature to caress the ego, it's just that they cant see that they only caress their own ego... no one else believes it.

    crack up.

dont get mad, laugh at them...

  6. why dose it bother you? many pepole dable in this and that. as long as they contribute something. but i havent seen one of those quizes yet.

  7. im just sick of people saying mauy thai, BJJ and krav maga are the best martial arts. and also people saying the most fight end up on the ground i havnt seen any decent fights that end up on the ground except on TV i have only ended up on the ground once because i slipped in a puddle but got back up and continued.

  8. amen

  9. What he said.
