  1. I have not heard that green tea is a laxative. It could be the things you are eating instead of what you are drinking.

  2. Green tea has great benefits but helping you go number 2 is not one of them.

Stop the laxatives and try 1 to 2 teaspoons of mineral oil a day. Or get some prune juice and that should work. These are both natural alternatives to help you. Stop eating any bulking foods until you go. For instance, no white bread or white rice or potatoes. Good luck.

  3. A tea bag is for a serving. But depending on how strong or week you like you tea you can have 6 - 12 ounces of water for it. Green tea still has caffeine, 30 mg as apposed to 50 mg of other teas. Since caffeine dehydrates then the more water you use the better. But then that is not what you are really asking, is it?

I know green tea does quite a bit for us but I was not aware that it was suppose to help us do #2. It has plenty fo antioxidents, is good for the stomach and digestion, helps to curb the appitite and I think increase motabolism but I don't recall ever hearing that it acts as a laxativ.

But then since caffeine dehydrates and being properly hydrated makes it easer to go #2 then perhaps this is contributing to your problem.

For proper hydration we need 1 ounce of water per 2 pounds of body weight plus 8 ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise. For hot/dry days and climates more is even needed. Caffeine and alcohol actually dehydrate. So that needs to be offset as well. Being dehydrated can cause headaches and other aches and pains, feeling tired and being rundown, slow mental process, not able to go as easily, and more.

First drink enough water to help your body work properly. Then try laxatives. Start with more natural things first like fiber, apples, and prune juice. Your body utilizes natural ingredients much better than it does drugs. If you do use laxatives keep in mind that they deplete your body of potasium and vitamins A & K.

So if you are dehydrated, using caffeinated products and laxitives it will be really hard on your heart.
