  1. For years people, including doctors, have recommended 8 glasses or 64 oz. a day.  Recent research has shown this to be a complete myth.  There is not ONE study that has ever been done to show that you need this much.  Drink when you are thirsty, period.  Your body gets most of the water you really need from food, anyway.
