How many pages are in a manuscript of a roughly 200 page book?

the book doesn't have to be exactly 200 pages. just somewhere around 200 pages. if the length of words has any thing to do with the length of the manuscript than i'm looking for a manuscript with words the size that you would find in a yung adult book.

You are really not making yourself clear here. Looking at your title I would have to say 200. If you are looking for an approximate word count for a 200 page book, then possibly about 70,000 plus words.

I understand exactly what you're asking, at least.

The trouble is, there's no correct answer. The words per page will vary widely between hardcover, mass market paperback, trade paperback, and of course the large print edition. The words in a paperback George R.R. Martin fantasy are in a small font, with small margins, while David Sedaris' latest not only has larger type but is practically double-spaced.

If your manuscript is formatted according to conventional standards (see them here: http://www.shunn.net/format/story.html , among other places), you'll get 250 words to the full page. That's 6-character strings, BTW, not actual words.

I'm going to assume that you want to know how many words are in a book of 200 pages.

That can change drastically, depending on the typeset used.  Assuming you used the Goosebumps series as an example, (Also assuming no blank pages, illustrations etc.) a 200 page book should be between 30,000 to 40,000 words.

What kind of question is that? Aren't you confused?  Wouldn't that be 200?

P.S.   I am sorry that I gave such a dumb answer earlier!  I wasn't thinking about what you really meant.  When I came back to the question to tell you this, I read others answers that were right on, saying much that I wanted to say.  Sorry!  I guess I was having a 'blonde' moment!!!  LOL LOL
