How many pages is a 40,000 word paper?

Question

Im in the IB program, and one of the final projects is to write a 40,000 word research paper on any topic

and im just wondering how man pages this is...

considering that i get around 250 on a handwritten paper, i would say about 1600 pages, but also considering that if i typed the same material into a word processor at size 12 font, i would fit about 3 times that on a paper (not doublespaced), so im guessing somewhere in the 500-550 pages range
