How many pages of scanned documents is equal to 1 GB?

Lets say that the format is PDF and there is an average amount of typing on it. I just need an estimate for research for data storage alternative. Also does anybody know anything about blu-ray disk as a form of data storage?

  1. the first answer makes sense. i looked at some of my pdf files and they average ~ 70kb per page.


  2. When scanning figure 50KB for black and white text at 200dpi.  Color is 190KB at 300dpi.

  3. Instead of taking some wild guess, why don't you just scan in one typical page at your intended resolution and color settings, find the file size from Windows Explorer, and divide into one billion?
