How many pages will my book be if...?

Question

I know when books are given a length it is in words but does anyone know how many 'book sized' pages one A4 sheet equates to?

I hope that my question makes sense.

A book tends to be roughly A5 so that would mean two, but books vary in size. If you plan to get your book published then pages aren't important it is the word count you need to go by. It would be about 250 words for A5 size (standard font: size 12)

Depending on the font and the spacing used on the A4, it is usually page for page. Try to calculate the number of words on the page. The font size and the line spacing size is very important. If you are printing on A4 for an editor, you need to double space, so they can make comments into each line for you. Page for page it is roughly the same for 12pt (standard font) and something like Ariel with a double line for each paragraph. Hope the answer makes sense!! Good Luck!!

A good novel should be 50,000-100,000. A word is counted on a page when it takes up 5 letters, spaces, or characters.

The above sentence would count for appx. 115 words.

I found it best when writing my novel to use Microsoft Word. It counts the words for you, corrects grammar and gives you some clues to use.
