I have a 64 ranchero. It did not come with seat belts so i know by law I don't have to have them. My problem is I take my daughter, nephew, and neighbor to school. They are all under the age of 9 and do fit in the car with plenty of room. Bt that's a total of 4 passengers is this legal???

  1. designed for three.but, all need seat belts.

if you have a bench seat with two seat belt set ups you can only safely  seat two.

  2. Technically, no, it is not legal. The car was designed for three people in the front. However the real issue is not wearing seat belts. Install four lap belts and no cop is going to hassle you. Drive around with unrestrained kids and you are going to have a problem! Either with a cop pulling you over or you hurting the kids because you are being negligent.

  3. Three......................the vehicle is designed for just three people and all depending on where you live will need seat belts.

Four would be illegal to have in the vehicle plus without seat belts you are opening yourself up to major liability and this has happened many times in the past.

  4. Is that in Mexico, China, or the U.S.?

  5. 1 per seatbelt>

  6. My feeling is that it's 3 passengers.I know that's what it is here in Canada.

  7. as many as there is seat belts

  8. 3 passengers is what that vehicle is designed for.
