  1. ONE! =]

My son's Pediatrician was also my huband's Pediatrician when he was a child. My husband AND son have had the same Pediatrician since they were both born ..

  2. We've been lucky so far.  Either that or we're just not that particular....but we've stuck with first pediatrician we found in the phone book.   Most great doctors have a large patient load. Other great doctors who don't have a full house of patients eventually will have lots of patients also.  Just make sure they're able to see your child same day if they are sick. Most offices set aside large chunks of the scheduling for just that purpose.

  3. i found a pediatrician and have stayed with him since, so one.

i love him and if there is a problem, no matter how minor they will get me in the same day (if he is not there they will put me in with another dr.)

i think a good pediatrician will get your baby in that day for any problem, no matter how minor, and should be one who listens and understands your concerns and parenting choices.

if you like the doctor then i would stay but if you don't really care for the doctor and they have too many patients then i would find another. you want to be happy with the doctor, their office and feel comfortable calling there with any issue.

i also kind of feel better about a doctor when i have to wait a little bit because this means they usually take their time with patients rather than rush through them all (as long as he takes time with me as well!)  - i don't like a doctor who seems very rushed and quick.

    good luck

  4. I just stayed with the doctor who delivered me as shes a pediatrician also..she knew my family history and was a family friend..so she sees my daughter..

  5. i think i lucked out. my doctor has been my doctor for almost 10 years now. he is our family doctor now. he is wonderful and wise and experienced (3 children of his own) and shares many of the same ideals we do. he was also my doctor through pregnancy and delivered our son.

  6. our pediatrician washes her hands as she enters the room. I think that's great! Anyway, we interviewed her because one of my friends recommended her and we knew within a minute that we would use her. And still to this day she's been great!

  7. My OBGYN recommended my daughter's pediatrician and we stuck with him because we liked his practice.

Edit:  Yea, our pediatricians (there are 2 in the office) wash their hands in the room right in front of us.

  8. I've had only one pediatrician. My nurse in the hospital recommended him even though she wasn't "supposed" to recommend one. I've loved him from the moment I met him. He takes his time and explains every thing to us and ALWAYS asks us if we have any questions. We usually don't because he always answers any questions we have BEFORE WE EVEN ASK THEM!! I guess I got lucky.

Good Luck in finding a good doctor.

Edit: Everyone also washes their hands right in the room in front of us.

  9. we changed once, the first pediatrician just acted weird and my husband also thought so, luckily the second one is great!

if you are happy with your ped, but just mind the busy waiting room, try getting appointments early in the morning or first just after lunch... that is what I do..... you will have less waiting time and will be seen pretty much on time.

  10. LOL my son is 8 and I just now found one! at a naval hospital. we have changed doctors atleast every year
