Question:

How many people allowed on a cruise?

I'm looking at cruise vacations and stuff, and it has prices like "600" dollars and stuff...but it doesn't say that it's for each person...I thought that cruises charged for each individual person to get on the boat...but are they like hotels and you just pay for the room and you're done, no matter how many people are going to be in the room?

What if four people wanted to get only 2 rooms? does that mean you would double, or quadruple the cost of the cruise?

Please explain if you've been or paid to go on any cruise ( I think they're all the same)

Thanx

  1. GO TO VACATIONSTOGO.COM! A GREAT WEBSITE FOR  CRUISING. ALL THE PRICES ARE PER PERSON AND YOU GET A ROOM FOR THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE NEEDED, BUT U MAY HAVE LESS ROOM WITH MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE. THEY COULD POSSIBLY PUT YOUR ROOMS NEXT TO EACH OTHER.

  2. The prices you see are per person based on a double occupancy room.  If you want more than 2 people in a room you will have to look at family bunks or suites.  It would make more sense to get 2 rooms.  Also remember the price you see online usually does not include taxes or port fees (adds up to around $150 per person)

  3. When you see the price like you mentioned $600, that is per person for 2 people so that would be $1200 for the cabin.  Most cabins can accommodate 3-4 people and most of the time, kids under a certain age (depending on the cruise line) are at a reduced rate.  You can reserve a cabin for one person, but there is a single supplement fee that will bring the price up to almost what a 2 person price is.  The most comfortable is 2 people to a cabin and you don't get charged extra for that.

Also, don't forget to inquire on the extra taxes, port fees, etc that are always on top of the quoted cruise rate! Some food items and drinks like alcohol and sodas are also extra on the ship!

And then there are the tips that really add up at the end of the trip!

I have included a couple links that I have found good deals on in the past (I am not affiliated with them in any way)

  4. Find out here

  5. Generally a cruise quote is for 2 passengers in a double occupancy stateroom. Usually, a cruise quote consists of two parts, The cruise rate and port charges. It generally does not include taxes. So when asking for a quote, make sure you also ask if taxes are included. This is all you need to pay to get on the ship once you've already got to the port.

However, these are not the only fees you have to pay. Some of the additional fees include (but are not limited to):

Beverages (water is free), gratuities, alcohol, spa treatments, shopping (on board and ports of call), air to port etc, etc.

  6. Cruises do charge per person.  But it also depends on the room.  If you have 4 people, and want a nice stateroom, you want to fill it up to keep the cost down, empty beds have a charge to them.  It differs between cruises, if you find one that doesn't charge for an empty bed that's great!  But most give room assignments based on the number of people traveling together.  Also, many cruises have been changing hands lately, the rooms get mixed up and prices can go up.  Our cruise for this summer went from a nice huge boat, to a small dinky one, they gave us free stuff, and a credit, but we get a smaller stateroom as well.
