  1. Reactors are safe, ex: Navy has never had any accidents and has been operating them for over 50 years now.

  2. Nuclear reactors are NOT safe. They take years to build, the leak and produce waste that is released into the air, into the water and liquid waste that is toxic and has no place to be stored. And once built, they become a target for terrorists. We need REAL solutions. Those solutions are clean and renewable energy resources such as wind and solar power. That's where we should be focusing our attention and NOWHERE else!

  3. No, sorry, unfortunately i am not ready for the reactors yet, dont worry too much about it yet ok.

There is no chance we will see much goings on about nukes being built in australia until well after the election and then i think ther old blub brain will be just some old geriatric in a nursing home pi$$ing his pants all day.

We have a good chance of a Labor government soon and Mr Garret will help to keep the guys honest (lets hope) when the government change hands.

Dont think anyone in Australai has had enough time to debate the issue seriously enough and weighed up the pros and cons, most times that this issue has surfaced it has had its head chopped off in court of public opinion

  4. they are the cleanest and safest way we have for the buck

  5. And this is why I support John Edwards, he will not use nuclear as a solution to our energy problem.  It is not clean when you have to bury it's byproducts deep in the earth to keep people safe.  Sorry.

  6. No but as soon as we burn out the last remaining lib's we will.  We might even burn out some independents so we have room for our surface to air missiles.

  7. I am not prepared to get on the nuclear energy treadmill.  Once we get it we will never be rid of it until the country's uranium reserves are depleted and it has turned into one big nuclear waste dump.  Then we will have to fight a war to get some other country's uranium and so that we can dump our waste on them.

What is the point of setting up yet another finite, destructive technology system?  Haven't we learnt anything from the oil thing?  I am sick of hearing people telling me that just because other countries have nuclear power - Australia MUST have it too.  It is ridiculous!  We can see all the problems they have with it, especially the disposal of the waste.  Why would we be so stupid to get into nuclear power 20 or 30 years after the rest of the world have almost finished with it?  It make no sense at all.  We have to find a better way.

I think Australia is being taken down this road because other countries are running out of uranium and we have the biggest deposits in the world.  Johnny wants to sell out this country and he doesn't care one bit what kind of a future he is creating for our children.

  8. You would rather be dependent on terrorists oil or other polluting fossil fuels?

Europe uses nuclear power for most of its energy needs. Franc is almost 100%. They use nuclear energy without the catastrphes that were supposed to occur.

Your irrational fear of nuclear energy is only matched by your desire to see America become a second rate power and your insatible urge for socialism.

  9. "Johnny Jack Boots?"  No idea

I live about 3 miles from a Nuclear reactor now.  No issues, no glowing in the dark, and oh by the way, our electricity costs are pretty darn low.

    Have a nice oil-free day!
