How many people can be on a volleyball team??

Regular indoor game, 6 each side. Beach ball, 2 each side. Friends hanging out for fun, number can be from 2-6 each side. :)

you can play with two on a team or three on a team but the most common is 8 or so but if you have more than 15 than you shoul;d have two teams the most common way to play is have 6 players on the court and then 2 or so sitting on the bench waiting to sub in

if you mean on a court, generally 6.  on a team in general I like to keep between 12 and 14

4. TEAMS

4.1 COMPOSITION

    Doubles:     2 players on the court per team, no more than 2 on the roster

    Triples:     3 players on the court per team, no more than 3 on the roster

    Four-person: 4 players on the court per team, no more than 6 on the roster

    Six-person:  6 players on the court per team, no more than 12 on the roster

       All competitions must involve teams with the required numbers

       of players. Teams with fewer than the required number of players

       must forfeit.

       Mixed teams are composed of male and female players competing on

       a men's height net and Reverse Mixed teams compete on a women's

       height net. Mixed teams must contain equal numbers of males and

       females on each team, except in triples (where there must be at

       least one of each) or if otherwise specified.

       Females may compete in men's tournaments, but may not play the

       male role in any other type of competition. Males may not play

       the female role in any type of competition.

Six is normal. But they have twos playing too.

six is how many are on the court, but i have seen teams with 12 people on them.  2 people for each position in case someone gets hurt.  on competition teams where some play 5 matches then i have seen 15 players, 2 for each position and 3 for each hitting position
