How many people defecate in the sea every day?

Question

My question is not how many people flush their excrement into the sea every day, but how many people actually take off their swimming trunks/costume/bikini bottoms/go naked/poo there cause of necessity every day?

The question came up a while ago and a friend proudly said i bet millions of people do it every day.. somehow that phrase has stuck with me and i really want to know, cause that might be right. There are more than 6,5 billion of us. Please give a guess or a reasoned response.

I agree with all these answers, I'm guessing millions!!

It seems like a lot of poo...but like it's been stated, there aren't bathrooms, convienently located, along beaches, plus besides the fact that sewage just flows into the ocean, also poorer cities along coasts probably go in the water, or in rivers, which will flow to the ocean

It happens more often than you think. Imagine how many people in the world go swimming in the ocean each year and imagine how many bathrooms there are on the beaches. Hmm... not very many I suppose. And some countries have waste flowing into the seas because they do not have proper sewage treatment. I'll guess maybe A LOT of people do it. Maybe in the millions. But also consider how long it takes to defecate.

Globally, 2600 million people defecate in the open where as in India, 700 million people..... and 11000 children die of water-related diseases every day. ...
