"It took seven years and the skills of hundreds of people from five countries to make the London Eye a reality." (plus 6 architects) - is the closest i can find to an exact figure.  (not including the 2 Spanish environMENTALists that climbed it in protest in 1999).

Its 6 kilometers of steel cable were made in Italy.

The steel A-frame was made in The Netherlands.

The "capsules" were made in France.

Other parts contracted to companies in Germany and the Czech Republic.

So good luck tracking down their respective teams lol...

(apparently British engineers didn't have a whole lot to do with it - aside from assembling the pieces - so if it breaks free and rolls over half of London we can blame someone else)
