  1. Motor vehicle crashes in the United States result in more than 45,000 deaths per year.

The number of homicides, poisonings, and drunk driving fatalities are roughly the same, at around 17,000 each............

  2. I'm from the USA.

    Nice country. [:

But somebody dies in a car crash every six seconds.

Five people are killed a day.

Three people kill their selfs each day...

But like twenty people are shot a day (mostly in Texas or California haaa)

  3. Check with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for your highway statistics.

  4. Way, way to many.

The numbers in my mind are staggering and so senseless.  This is the reason I keep shouting from my soapbox we need better skilled drivers.  Cars have never been better.  I believe the skill level of drivers has decreased.  And the lack of skill and skillful judgement results in accidents and deaths.

The second list is for the number of motorcycle deaths.  So so sad and needless.

  5. As an example, in '05 more motorists were killed in vehicle mishaps (31,549) than were murdered with firearms (10,100) and died with AIDS (16,316) - combined...Those motorists were just the ones killed in Class C (passenger) vehicles...Add the deaths from buses, trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians and it totals more than 41,000...And what do you think is being done about it????

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!
