nobody really knows. government agencies were unfunded and barely existent. no reliable statistics but you can bet it was millions. it lasted a long time. people often had their home plot for burials and a million hobos roamed the country looking for work here and there. people just diasppeared and there is no answer what became of them. no job, no home and in cold weather and no medicine. from 1929 until ww2 kicked in and created jobs and millions were drafted to fight. almost 10 years of 60 percent of unemployed men.
